stuff about the London Underground that you never knew.

Im getting flack right now for adding this to my blog, but I don't care it think its interesting/funny....


1. There is only one tube station name which does not have any letters of the word 'mackerel' in it- St Johns Wood
2. There are only two tube stations which have all five vowels in them- Mansion House and South Ealing (which is my stop yayayayayay we are cool!!)
3. Northfield station (one down from us yayayayayayayay!) on the Piccadilly Line was the first to use kestrels and hawks to kill pigeons and stip them setting up homes in stations
4. Out of the 287 tube stations, only 29 are south of the river Thames
5. Angel has Western Europes longest escalator- 318 steps
6. The air in the underground 10 degrees hotter than the air on the surface
7. Green grapes cause more accidents on the London Underground than banana skins
8. Only one person was ever born in a tube carriage and her name was Thelma Ursula Beatrice Eleanor in 1924 at Elephant and Castle
9. Cadbury's Whole Nut chocolate bar is the biggest seller in the chocolate machines at the tube stations.
