Back to a bit of sporting action
As you can see I have changed my favourite links on the lefthand side to include my touch rugby and 5-a-side football leagues!
We Edaw Terriers played our first game last night and won 6-1 with Pannell and Morgan representing the United Kingdom branch of the Stingers by scoring 2 and 3 goals respectively!
Im just relishing playing some proper organised social sport now! Loose those winter kilos for sure- i think ill keep my beer belly though!

More random carly shite
I swear Ill write something deep/meaningful/poetic/eloquent one day...
Anyway further to my previous posts about dreams I remembered I also had a dream the John Cleese was a teacher at school- only I remember in my dream that it wasn't John Cleese but actually Billy Collony- except that in my dream i remember thinking- how cool that John Cleese is a teacher at my school!
Anyway all this random shite is because its friday night and im already for bed at 7.10pm, Im midly jealous that Rich is going to see Radiohead tonight at the Hammersmith Apollo and the only thing I have to look forward to is getting up at 5.50am for work... ah the joys of life! Im waiting for it to get dark so I can go down the road to our old place and knick the recycling bin hehehehehehe.... i can't be arsed ringing Ealing Council for another one!
Anyway this posting is supposed to be a bit of a tribute to Father Ted- a programme from the late nineties , which in my humble opinion was the funniest god damn thing on telly.
Here they are anyway, Father Ted, Dougal, Mrs Doyle and Father Jack.
This all came out of this picture emailed to me by Rich....
There was one episode where the local cinema is showing a film condemned by the Church for its X-rated and blasphemous depiction of St Tibulus. Bishop Brennan is dispatched to the island to ensure that the priests take to the picket line in protest. But their defiant stand only gives more publicity to the film, which becomes an overnight success. It is left to Father Jack to stop the Bishop from sending them packing.
Some hilarious quotes from the episode include:
Ted: (to Father Hernandez) He gets a kind of waxy build up in his ears.Dougal: Yeah, but it's good though, in a way, cos we never run short of candles.
Bishop Brennan: Normally you wouldn't be able to organize a nun shoot in a nunnery.
(Bishop Brennan is holding a poster for "The Passion of St. Tibulus" with photos of Ted, Dougal and Jack apparently endorsing the film)
Bishop Brennan: (to Ted) There's you, there's Forrest Gump! And there's Father Jack actually watching the film!
(Ted and Dougal are holding up protest signs. Ted's sign reads "Down With this Sort of Thing" while Dougal's reads "Careful Now")
Ted: Down with this sort of thing!
Dougal: Careful now.
This is taken from this link
This picture, anyway is just a bit of a piss take of the Catholic church and the whole Da Vinci Code thing. I think those who never watched Father Ted wouldn't really appreciate the humour of this.. ah... well.

Please tell me why.. (in a different context to previous posts....)
a) I had a dream last night with a plot I can't quite remember, but a cast including Mercury Rev, my old friend from primary school, Andrea Johnson and Brandon Fraser (as in the Mummy and George of the Jungle fame).... probably the most random dream I have had in a while!
b) Why Ronaldinho is the worlds highest player (reported 17 or something million a year) but probably has THE worst teeth ever?
Anyways Arsenal lost last night, and it might have been the refs fault for sending Jens Lehman off and and disallowing the goal scored by Barcelona after the foul was committed. Maybe a better decision would have been to let the goal stand and keep the keeper on the field, so it would still be a 11 vs 11 game.

Carlys Scones
Whilst Im posting useless crap, heres a recipe for my yummy scones...
3 cups of self raising flour + some more extra
One bottle of cream
Can of lemonade
Mix all the liquid stuff with the first portion of flour, then just keep adding extra flour until you have a dough that you can knead with your fingers.... add whatever else you like (sultanas or dates etc..)
Then just break em apart to however big you like your scones and bake em at 220 degrees for around 12 minutes or until brown.
Then eat them all while they are still hot, with jam and if you are in England Clotted cream. And make sure you share them with you housemates.....
Yum yum yum yum
Carlys Football Rant....Part 3
Well im just getting all the remainder of the seasons football before the world cup comes along....
SO tonight is the Champions League Final... question is will it be a thrilling 3-3 draw (ie Liverpools feat last season) or will it just be a big boring 1-0 win to someone....
And more importantly can I be arsed going to the pub to watch it?????
Anyway I have no idea who has been announced in the Arsenal squad- the only talking point is the return of Sol Campbell and Ashley Cole from injury to replace the other youngsters that have played so well for the rest of Arsenals campaign. Seems a bit unfair I dunno...
The linesman (they now call em 'Assistant Referees') has been changed because the other one was photographed in Norway wearing a Barcelona shirt, thus would not be impartial....
Apart from that I don't know who is lining up for Barca either- as long as Ronaldinho is playing who cares???
Not really much of a pre-game build up after all huh!?

Joke time...
Heres a really funny joke that Rich told me last night...
What did the 0 say to the 8 ????????????????
I like your belt!
Har har har har
Not much of an exciting weekend apart from the FA cup final which turned out to be a doozy with Liverpool down 3-2 and Stevie Gerrard (aka one man liverpool) scoring possibly one of the best goals of the seaons 35 yards out, one minute into injury time! Brilliant- they won it in a penalty shoot out!
Heres a pic that I've got from soccernet!
Sweet as

here is the sign on our old door
Hehehe we laugh about it now....
Stupid Darlingtons (who had originally told us they'd refund us 1000 pounds of our deposit) are only going to refund us our referencing and administration fees.... but of a bummer but they are doing out of their own good-will... still not very professional to make empty promises like that though..
So the saga continues... next stop small claims court..
You may notice if you have good eye sign a small bit of paper in the corner of the pic- its a card from another debt recovery company with a message for Colin Trevor saying that he owes them 2.5K!
What a twat- I have grand plans to go to his forwarding address and egg his car!
Boro lost
After the big build-up boro got their arses kicked 4-0 ha!
Might I add the stupid referee may have played a big hand in their loss as he didn't pull up the Serville centre back for a foul on Viduka which CLEARLY should have been a penalty when the score was only 1-0.... could have changed the game......
Ah welll..................

The residential
I realised I never had a rant about the residential I was on with school- (camp in otherwords...)
Nothing really exciting happened- all the kids were really well behaved and we stayed at the Gordon Brown Outdoor Education Centre and did cool stuff like building shelters in the forest, playing lots of cricket and football and were extremelly well fed by the resident cook, Diana!
Probably the funniest thing was this kid Jowvoke who was completely obsessed with the chicken, Flame, who lived at the centre... here are some pics anyway!
Jowvoke and Flame!
By the campfire!
Still a botanist at heart!
Carlys football rant of the day Part 2!
Well its UEFA CUP mania today with Middlesbrough (My family team!) taking on FC Sevilla....
Bring it on baby....
Heres my pre-match build up....
Last night I spoke to my nan who is born and bred in Boro and she had been talking to her sister or my great auntie Migger who was saying that the whole city wants to win....
All the latest information hereā¦ from the Boro Gazette, MESSAGE TO DAD- NAN WAS GOING TO RING YOU TO TELL YOU IT WAS ONLINE!!!
What a lovely picture of my sexy bitch Stewart Downing!
So how do the teams compare.....? Hmmm
Mark Schwarzer will be starting in goal with a protective mask as he fractured his cheekbone- not sure why but I have visions of the Phantom of the Opera....... and Gareth Southgate is back from injury to captain the team.... rumour has it that Ray Parlour might also be in the starting lineup!
I don't really recognise any FC Sevillas players apart from Freddie Kanoute who used to play for Tottenham....
Ah well game on folks- should be a good one!

Carlys Football rant of the day.......
Well heres Svens provisional squad for the world cup... heres my comments on it JUST BECAUSE I CAN...... And not because Im a bit world authority on football either....!
Goalkeepers: Robinson (Tottenham), James (Manchester City), Green (Norwich)
No surprises there really..... englands number one, englands englands number one..... yay that Tottenham game was wicked!
Defenders: G Neville (Manchester United), R Ferdinand (Manchester United), Terry (Chelsea), A Cole (Arsenal), Campbell (Arsenal), Carragher (Liverpool), Bridge (Chelsea)
If I had my way I'd get rid of Ferdinand coz hes had a crap season and stick Ryan Nelsen in.... har har har! Except he's from NZ.... Ashley Cole and Sol Campbell and Wayne Bridge are coming back from injury.. dunno who else I'd put in there...
Im gutted that Ledley King is out with injury I rather like him...
Midfielders: Beckham (Real Madrid), Carrick (Tottenham), Lampard (Chelsea), Gerrard (Liverpool), Hargreaves (Bayern Munich), Jenas (Totenham), Downing (Middlesbrough), J Cole (Chelsea), Lennon (Tottenham)
All a bunch of sexy bitches! Lennon hmmmmmmm.... I feel sorry that the likes of Shaun Wright-Phillips missed out but then it serves him right for going to Chelseavich! Never really seen Owen Hargreaves play but yay for Stewart Downing- A big boro sexy bitch especially! Aaron Lennon is a gamble for sure... I also like Kevin Nolan from Bolton- he seemed really cool....
Forwards: Rooney (Manchester United), Owen (Newcastle), Crouch (Liverpool), Walcott (Arsenal).
Walcott for those who don't know is only 17 and has just transferred to Arsenal halfway through the season and hasn't even played a first team game, although has been tauted as the next big thing in football....VERY CONTRAVERSIAL HERE!....
No Defoe- ok I guess he was on the bench for most of Tottenhams season..... I feel really sorry for Darren Bent as the was like the 3rd highest goal scorer for Charlton in the Premiership. Maybe lack of strike-force upfront, but maybe relying on the likes of Lampard and Gerrard to score goals...
Ah well it seems like half the England squad are coming back from injury...
Not sure how well we will fare... who really knows??
And of course the gamble that Rooney will be fit for the final games only and will miss the group stages.... I dunno Sven I know that Rooney is the exception to the rule but........
Standby players: Scott Carson, Luke Young, Nigel Reo-Coker, Jermain Defoe, Andy Johnson.

Tell me why Part 2....
Why I don't like Mondays....
Today I seem to be having a particularly bad day...
Firstly I was up early and all efficient so I could get to work early to catch up on emails... but then I got to the end of the road, missed two buses in a row and had to wait 15 minutes for the next one which pissed me off....
Plus its raining....
Im annoyed that my expense claim hasn't been paid from Lizard work....
Im still tired from the residential (which was heaps of fun btw....)......
I'm sick and tired of being broke... (thanks Colin!)
I actually feel like I could take my frustrations out on some rugby in the rain.....
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
