What I'm up to in the weekend

Quote Jarvis Cocker from Sorted for E's and Wizz

cos I seem to have left an important part of my brain somewhere, somewhere in a field in Hampshire.......

Yip thats right I'm off to the Gordon Brown centre in Hampshire on the 6th form residential. For some reason the teacher, Andy thought it would be a good idea to have it over the weekend. Good news is that I'll get a couple of days in lieu for my troubles. As long as it doesn't flood or anything....

The Coral and the Manic Street Preachers

Several thursdays ago I had the immense pleasure of seeing the Manic Street Preachers play at the Shepperds Bush Empire with support from The Enemy which I am pleased to say recognised two songs from too! It was a great gig, and it was awesome to note the James Dean Bradfield has got an amazing voice. Oh and Nicky Wire is a freak, judging from his lunges across the stage wearing a mini skirt. I repeat- FREAK. It was good to see some good old classics- especially Motorcycle Empitness, Design for Life and Everything must go. Yay for the good old days.....

Here's a bad pic from that one anyway....

And finally last night, myself and the fabulous Helen went and saw The Coral with support from Kate Nash at Astoria. To be honest they were very flat, and didn't have much in the way of enthusiasm and stage presence which was a shame. Having said that I was such a big fan a couple of years back, and I was stoked that they played loads of cool old stuff- they opened with Spainish Main, and all the other goodies- very happy with Bill McCai which they played off the coolest album, Magic and Medicine.
Here are the lads anyways strumming away...

And the worlds biggest stresser is.......

ME

After all this hospital kerfuffle with Rich and his ankle (almost two weeks in hospital all for a stupid broken ankle) I have come to the conclusion that if things don't go my way and I have absolutely no control over them- I turn into the worlds worst stresser. I think its in the Pannell genes sadly.....

Football tournaments- Special needs styles!

I love my football tournaments at Regents Park and as manager of the Woodfield School football team I love to see teams enjoying themselves, and I understand its all a bit of fun; sure winning the whole thing would be nice, but quite frankly its a nice day out and a bit of laugh.... right?!

WRONG!!!!!!!!!

In the past I have seen teachers and/or assistants giving hard out 'team' talks explaining that they need to score lots of goals in the next game so they go through on GOAL DIFFERENCE (N.B. these kids forget which way they are playing, let alone being able to understand GD!)

Then there are the twats that just yell the whole time on the sideline. I found it particularly funny yesterday when this woman who was the worlds biggest chav yelling in her awful accents come on befany come on befany (instead of using the queens english and pronouncing 'Bethany'). Just hideous. I guess you have to be there!

In da weekend

Must make more of a concerted effort to update this blog!

So in da weekend me and my g's went to the UK branch of Hells Pizza! Yay which was very exciting and meant a trip down to Fulham. After wrongly ordering a double brimstone not being able to eat half of it (thus not being able to sample a dessert pizza- doh!) we headed to Fulham Broadway for some drinkies and legged it home just after midnight on da bus at there was engineering works. Yay all good there except when I decided to sample my leftover pizza for lunch the next day I discovered a very long black hair woven throughout my pizza topping. Needless to say it was promptly discarded in the bin. Nice one!

Anyway I'm on a bit of a roll here and want to share some revelations I've had recently...

First up I have finally discovered what makes my leg twitch

Which sometimes happens when I'm trying to get to sleep- eating dessert too late! I don't actually have dessert that often, but the other night I had some icecream and strawberries half an hour before I went to bed and had major body jerks and leg twitches all around.

Secondly 24 is good............ real good!

After watching the first excellent season on DVD our household is currently half-way through season 2 and despite all the tourture that seems rife in this installment I'm completelly addicted- fortunately for us we have just borrowed season 3.... cha hoo
